Texas fans of 'Twilight' series to podcast from New York to promote fourth installment

Sisters Kallie Mathews and Kassie Rodgers, who run a fan-club Web site for author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books, have gotten used to creating podcasts from the comfort of their local homes.
But today they're taking their North Texas-based show on the road – more than 1,500 miles north to New York City. They'll broadcast live from the Borders in Columbus Circle, a centerpiece in the chain's national effort to promote tonight's midnight release of Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final book in the wildly popular series.
During the two-hour podcast, the sisters will lead discussions with fans about their predictions of what will happen to the characters in Breaking Dawn. They will be joined by three other Twilight aficionados from online fan clubs.
The sisters launched their site in January. Their podcasts average about 10,000 downloads a week, Ms. Mathews said, and their site gets 15,000 hits a day.
"I'm just excited to be able to meet other people who are in love with the books like we are, and who have the same passion about it," Ms. Rodgers, 28, of Roanoke said of her trip. "It's so interesting to see the broad range of people who read these books – there are teenagers and there are moms. It's just crazy to see the variety of people who read them."
Ms. Mathews, 30, of Grand Prairie agreed, saying she is eager to have the chance to talk with fans in person about Ms. Meyer and her new book. "I just can't imagine not loving the book no matter how twisted or how off the story goes," she said. "For someone to be able to write about vampires and werewolves and for it to be so powerful – that takes talent."
Their moment in New York will be brief: They'll return tonight to lead another podcast at the Parks Mall Barnes & Noble in Arlington.
